or so i did the Paul sellers relaxed tooth rake so it starts easy (this actually works). The saw isn't as fast as out of the box but cuts and starts smoother and fells right. This sawes fil it cross cuts pretty well.

I always assumed that the depth of the tenon saw blade kept the cut nice and straight.

The last two pics show the backside (pic 5) and frontside (pic 6) of my test cut with the 24 tpi blade. Paul Sellers is amazing, I love his manner when hes is teaching and love all the great tips and techniques he shares.

A 12” (30cm) or 14” (36cm) (depending on your stature) tenon saw with 14 PPI. A” cm) long handsaw with 10 PPI ripcut, but an 8 PPI also works. If you are planning to cut a lot of stock to size by hand, you may want one ripcut and one crosscut handsaw of reasonable length (say 22″+) with around 5-8 PPI.
