The number of South African's living in New Zealand numbered 41,676 as recorded in the 2006 New Zealand census of people. Since then, about 6,800 more South African's who arrived in New Zealand have
confirmed their intention to become residents of the country.
About 67 percent of South African's live in Auckland and Wellington.

| The number of South African's entering New Zealand on a monthly basis as immigrants increased slightly from 214 in December 2007 to 219 in December 2008. The number of SA born residents of New Zealand
leaving the country rose from 35 to 44 over the same period. |
